Silly Breakfast

The girls were being so funny at breakfast this morning-I love mornings like this. Waking up slow, everybody jumping in bed with us and then a waffle and bacon breakfast to start off the day...life is good. Wish every day was like this.

Christmas

Christmas Eve, the girls set out a treat for Santa-the orange was so he would have something "healthy".
We spent Christmas Eve day cooking, cleaning and just having fun together. That night we did the "Miller" spread with all the yummy appetizers. We watched Peter Pan and then looked for Rudolph in the sky. After our usually routine of reading, praying, and piggy back rides, the girls went to bed so good. Tyler and I played Santa and tried to watch a movie, but went to bed after 30 min. into it. We are getting old. The best part of Christmas was seeing the girls find the Barbies! Allie has been wanting a Barbie so bad this last year, and we held off until now. We found an awesome yard sale where we bought a house, several cars, clothes, 30 Barbies (like new), and all the accessories a girl could ever want or need. All for under $10. We cleaned everything up and it turned out great! Anybody who knows me knows how cheap I am, so this was an awesome find. We spent Christmas day with Tyler's family and enjoyed every minute of it. What a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Cookie swap

I love this idea! Last night I went to a cookie swap where everyone brings 5 dozen of the same treat, and than you swap so that you go home with 5 dozen different varieties. That makes putting treat plates together so dang easy. All the women brought there best stuff, and they were all from trusted kitchens (very important):). This is old news to some of you, but I am sure a fan now.

The hunt for the tree

We looked and looked, and it was freezing! But here are the results. Sure love Christmas! You can't beat the smell of pine!

Fed for the year

We had the wonderful opportunity to have Sister Julie Beck our General Relief Society President come to speak to us on Saturday. It was incredible. I like to say that I'mthe best friend she doesn't know she has. I love how blunt she is. She said some things I will never forget, one of them being.

In a world where most people think everyone owes them something, let me tell you...Nobody owes you anything, but you owe the Lord everything. You signed up for this, you said you could do this, and you can do this. You must do it.

It was just one of the powerful lessons I learned from her. I have set some new goals for myself to change for the better and to not let myself become complacent. It is far too easy to think that we are doing "good enough", I want to be better.

Gratitude

I'm Grateful for things I do not have,
For blessings I haven't been given,
I'm grateful for places I have not seen,
For cars I have never driven,
It is in those things I do not have,
That helps me to truly be,
Grateful for all that I do have,
Voids leave room to see.

Moab

We spent Saturday in Moab to escape the Snow in Monticello. We had a picnic by the river and then attempted to watch a movie on our little DVD player while parked on a cliff overlooking the landscape. It sounded like a good idea, until we realized that three little girls were not going to sit through a whole movie. It was a great day to just have together. If you have never been to southern UT. I highly suggest you plan a trip.

Living/Dining Room

I wrote this poem specifically to do something like this with it someday. I wrote it when we lived in Washington, and it still describes our life today.
Allie likes to be in pictures as you can see:) Quite a poser...I miss having a wood-burning stove, for practical reasons and for the smells, but it is so nice to be able to flip a switch on the gas fireplace. The last picture is the entrance to our home, you walk up two steps from the enterance to be in this main living room. I like having a little nook for an enterance. Then nobody can see if there are still breakfast dishes in my sink:) I just noticed all of the nobs on my sewing table are turned all crazy...nobody's perfect:O)

Some of the house

I just painted the kitchen a while back. I like the cupboards better now. There was just too many kinds of wood trying to mix-it felt really "busy". The texture in the kitchen is thick and crazy, but it kind of works with the whole glaze thing. As always, the girls like to be in the middle of all of it.-Bria was "helping" me put a poem up on the wall. I've given up on the battle of the couch cushions. They can have them!!!
