We had a lovely visit from some of our young men. Tyler caught them in the act, and then when he realized who it was, let them continue!? "All in the name of fun". They left us little bags of candy on our door step...how thoughtful...haha

What a Man!

Happy Birthday/Father's Day Tyler! He just turned 29! I tease him about being "almost 30", I remember when that sounded so old:0 His Birthday was on Father's Day, which he liked this year...as for me, I like to celebrate my holidays one at a time:) He's such a great guy. I brag about him a lot, but I feel pretty blessed to have him. There isn't anything he can't fix, he loves his girls and makes them top priority, he never complains, and is patient when I do. He goes without Television and PG13 movies just because he knows I appreciate it, and was willing to see my side of things...need I say more? We love ya babe!

Blanding

We went to Blanding/Monticello this last week for Tyler's parents' homecoming. The girls have been so good to travel, considering we just got back from Washington to go through the temple with my Aunt and Uncle. We are getting really good at packing the car:)














My sister gave us the brilliant idea of "snack boxes". It cuts back on the bulk of endless cracker boxes and bags that get ripped and spill all over. It is so great. I just individualize each box according the person and everyone is happy.


















Alta came with us to "help with the girls" She was incredibly helpful, but really I just wanted to spend more time with her and hook her up with my nephew who is leaving on his mission in November. She has become like a sister to me, so I'm trying to keep her in the family. It was a successful match if I do say so myself:) .


















Tyler's parents are so dang cute. We are sure excited to live closer to them .

Good Byes

Tyler's work crew threw us a little goodbye BBQ, we all became pretty close over the last couple of years here. It isn't often that you LOVE the people you work with, but these guys are awesome, and feel like family.

Jake's last trip with us

We went camping for Jake's last weekend with us. It was a great way to spend the time together and to get away. We went on a really pretty hike up to a water fall. I looked pretty funny on the trail, but oh well. The girls loved it, and Tyler was in his element.

Spiritual Feast

This week has been full of projects in order to get our house ready to sell, but also I have had the opportunity to be spiritualy fed at several meetings that happened to be in the same week. Tyler teaches Seminary and the director came from Reno for an appreciation dinner/meeting. It was a great night with so many good things said. We then had the opportunity to go to Reno for a Special CES conference in which Elder David E. Bednar, Neil A. Anderson, and Elder Zwick of the Seventy addressed us. They opened the night up to a Q/A session which surprised me, but ended up being amazing! This has been a pretty stressful time for our little family with the move and everything else that is going on in our lives, but Tyler and I want to be able to enjoy our summer despite the craziness. Some of the counsel we received was just what we needed to hear and feel. I am posting some of our before and after pictures of the house- I'm not even going to list what we've done, because it is all in the details you most likely can't see in the picture, but man have we worked!

Here we go again...

We have been pretty busy around here lately. Over Spring Break two weeks ago, we heard about a job opening in Blanding UT (Tyler's home town). We have never really considered it as an option before, but for some reason it hit a nerve. Even though Tyler loves his job here, and we have felt pretty settled, thde temptation to live closer to family was too strong to resist. Tyler applied a day after the job "closed" and we found ourselves in Blanding for an interview this week. It has all happened so fast, that I'm still reeling a little from the news. We have decided to take the job and move this summer. My baby is due July 9th, and we have our house to sell and another house to buy when we get there, but oh well...bring it on. We have decided we will most likely live in Monticello which is in the school district. There is a temple there and I am so excited for that. What a crazy summer we are going to have, but we feel like it is the right thing for our family right now, and we are trusting that things will work out.

Easter Weekend

We do Easter baskets on the Saturday before Easter, it helps to not have all the crazy sugary fun just before church starts. They had to hunt for their baskets and found them in the dryer this year. We went to a BBQ at our friends house that night and then came home and decorated eggs.

A little lesson on humility

It seems these last few years have been some humbling ones for me. Becoming a wife was humbling because it made me realize how much I could depend on someone, and becoming a mother required me putting any selfish desires or ambitions aside to become somebody someone else could depend on, but there has been more to this lesson of humilty for me. Every time I turn around, I am learning to recognize the areas I need to improve on, and the list seems endless!

President Lorenzo Snow said:
“We must not allow ourselves to be discouraged whenever we discover our weakness. We can scarcely find an instance in all the glorious examples set us by the prophets, ancient or modern, wherein they permitted the Evil One to discourage them; but on the other hand they constantly sought to overcome, to win the prize, and thus prepare themselves for a fullness of glory.”

I was grateful for that quote this week considering the fact that it is easy to become discouraged when we realize how far we need to go, yet I am grateful looking back for how far I have come and hope to continue on. I am submitting a book I have wrote on this subject for publication and am getting ready for some rejection. It's a project I have worked on for a few years now, and I hope to get some positive feedback. We'll see...

If only spring would stay

We had some nice weather for a little while, and we tried to make the most of it. We try and shake things up for lunch with Daddy, this day we did a picninc, but sometimes we go to his office or meet up somewhere. Tyler has broken out the dutch ovens quite a bit this spring, recently we made chocolate lava cake for the releif society Brithday dinner. We made 8 dutch ovens of the stuff. That was a lot of cake! I had to sing that night too, it was a busy evening. Thank goodness we live across the street from the church.

PJ Fun

I love this picture. It is so fun to see Allie and Bria become friends. The more Bria grows, the more you see her funny personality come out. They love being silly together. I only wish the silly moments lasted a little longer, because inevitably, the "I don't want to share" moments come. *sigh*
