Candy Shop Wars

My little brother Matt got his 10 minute of fame when he was selected to play "Nate" in a book trailer promoting Brandon Mull's new book the Candy Shop Wars.  As part of the promotion they had a big Marshmallow war with the actors of the trailer along with Brandon being the "targets".  We met up with my parents in SLC to be a part of the craziness.

Newspaper Rock 10 K

Old Post...Seriously Old...but I wanted documentation of this stuff.  My friend Mindy and I both finishing our first 10K together.  She coached me along and we ended up coming in 3rd place for our age group.  Well, at least we both crossed at the same time-they gave the prize to her (which she deserved because I wouldn't have made it without her)  It was a little lizard plaque that she offered joint custody for, but I politely declined:)  I had run 6 miles straight before...but it never gets easier.

SUPER GIRLS!

The day they won't let me match them will be so sad:( I know it is coming soon, but for now I will enjoy the moment.  These girls really are super!  Super cute, super sweet, and super helpers!  We had a great halloween-first year since having children that we didn't have a "baby".  That was kind of weird...but kind of nice...

Ragnar

This post hase been a long time coming-but life has been crazy busy.  We just had our movie party as a team to celebrate the good times, and it reminded me that I had not blogged since SEPTEMBER!  The Ragnar relay race in Colorado was such a blast!  We ran, laughed, ran, and laughed some more.  We ran a lot of miles in a little amount of time, through the heat of the day and the cold of the night.  THANKS FOR THE GOOD TIME! Take State!

FOMO

DSC07298

FOMO- Fear of missing out.  A new little term I learned this weekend while running my first Ragnar race in Colorado Springs.  This acronym sums up why we went 30+ hours on practically no sleep, climbing mountains you wouldn’t take a four-wheeler on, and sucking down sugar-filled blocks for meals.  When it is all said and done…I had one of the best experiences of my life!  To the 12 ladies who I laughed and cried with…I have nothing but love for you. Going out hotSmile ladies.

Family Pictures 2012

We did these ourselves, which means tri-pod in the wind...but we got a few good pictures between tantrums, and run-ins with cactus:)  Oh the joy of taking pictures with small children.

Star Struck

I got to spend the afternoon with one of my favorite authors-Brandon Mull.  (Author of Fablehaven series, Candy Shop Wars series and the Beyonder's Series) My youngest brother Matt auditioned to be in the up-coming book-trailer film for Brandon's new book in the Candy Shop Wars and got the lead part as "Nate".  (He's the cute kid in the blue shirt.)  I went to Salt Lake to see him film one of the scenes and Brandon showed up to hang out.  It was so great!
So I have always considered myself someone who would never get star-struck...because I am so cool,calm,collected...I would NEVER act like an idiot around a famous person.  Than I met Brandon Mull, and as hard as I tried to act cool...I acted like an idiot.  There are a few rules in meeting a famous person.  You don't let them know: You have read ALL of their books and that you know ALL of the names of their characters. Oh well, I'm sure he was flattered that a 28 year old woman was totally nuts over his...um...children's books.:)

Smart Babies

I swear I didn't set this shot up.  My girls love chess.  It's pretty cute to watch them play.  This is one of those rare moments when they aren't fighting over who gets the pink cup or the princess flashlight.
